This year, on April 26, Ebenezer Baptist Church’s youth group will be a host for former IMB president David Platt’s Secret Church simulcast. If you haven’t heard of it, Secret Church was started by Platt on the inspiration of a mission trip to China. There he saw countless faithful Christians meeting underground. They hid from the authorities in sometimes the most unpleasant of conditions—no pews or sound systems or air conditioning—and often at the most unpleasant of hours to fellowship and dig into God’s Word.
In their honor, every year David Platt hosts an online video Bible study in the middle of the night for 6 hours. This year, the topic is prayer and fasting. In a world where everyone is encouraged to do everything on their own, we desperately need the biblical teaching that our strength comes from dependence on God.
All youth groups in the area are invited to join us for this time of Bible study and fellowship. Registration is $12 per person, inclusive of the simulcast access, study books, snacks, and other provisions. Contact us with expected headcounts by March 25, and payment is due April 8.
